Originally built in Romanesque style, the cathedral has been restored and extended several times, with Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque elements. Construction began in 1107, but the works were damaged and halted after an earthquake in 1117. Construction resumed in 1129, and the building was probably finished in 1160-1170. Minä Italiassa. Tulin lauantaina illaala Helsingista. Oli pitka matka. Minä lensin KLM-kanssa. Oli stop over Amsterdamissa yhden tuntia mutta me pysyimme kolme tuntia lentokentällä huon säälle.  Minä oli laskeutunut Milanossa illala ja matkustin Cremonan junalla. Saavuin Cremonassa kello yksy yölla. Tanään minä olen Pondederalla, se on pieni kapupunki Pisan lähellä, Toscanassa. Minä pysyn minun serkun kanssa. Ho finito oggi un libro che mi ha fatto compagnia per circa un  mese. Il titolo è Patria 1978-2010 (. Lo scrittore è Enrico Deaglio.  Giornalista e scrittore di sinistra del quale ricordo  qualche programma televisivo anni fa. Forse Rai 3. L’idea del libro e’ semplice: ripercorrere 30 anni di storia attraverso i  fatti principali accaduti anno dopo anno. Incontro con Bartolo a Melbourne

Ieri ho incontrato Bartolo qui a Melbourne. È stato un incontro innaspettato dopo l’arrivo da Hong Kong, via Adelaide. All’aereporto ho preso lo SkyBus che porta al terminal in centro: Southern Cross. Lì hanno smistato i turisti diretti a vari alberghi della città. Il mio è Rydges in Swanston Street.
