I took this photo from the north entrance of the Cathedral of Cremona (Duomo). Originally built in Romanesque style, the cathedral has been restored and extended several times, with Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque elements. Construction began in 1107, but the works were damaged and halted after an earthquake in 1117. Construction resumed in 1129, and the building was probably finished in 1160-1170. Palazzo Fodri was built at the end of the 15th century by Cremonese architect De Lera, it was the home of the noble Fodri family. In the internal porticoed courtyard with overlapping loggia one can see a stringcourse strip in terracotta illustrating a battle scene as well as episodes from Roman history on the eaves.
