Venla’s Valentine Day
It is Valentine Day here in the Philippines. It is a big day for the people in this country. It is afternoon. My daughter Venla is at home from school. Teachers spending time in their families as this is very much a family day. They are probably getting ready to go out to eat tonight. The busiest day of the year for the restaurants in Dumaguete, a restaurant owner told me once. We are in the garden. Sun is […]
A surfer into the sunset in Lembongan island
Sunsets in Lembongan island (Bali), a photo by Arnaldo Pellini on Flickr. I was in Lembongan island east of Bali. a great sunset. I walked into the sea weed garden where during the low tide sea weed farmers work. The tide was rising as the sunset time approached. Moonrise in Dumaguete
I was driving the car back home from the Robison mall. I decided to take a short cut and avoid the centre of the city. I passed on the bridge near the Chinese pagoda where the view of the sea is usually really nice. That night was even better. The moon had just risen. I stopped the car and luckily had my camera with me.

Ho messo delle foto in Flickr a questo indirizzo: . Parto da casa, quartiere Batayan e prendo Rovira Road. Passo la National Road e proseguo lungo la strada che va verso Valencia. Voglio […]
Season Greetings from the Philippines
At times it is possible to find little gems in the little-screen-inflight-movie-world. The other day, while flying to Sydney, I watched Another Earth. It tells the story of an approaching planet which is the exact copy of our Earth. The planet is like a second moon and can be seen up in the sky. Since it is a copy of our planet, it is lived by copies of us (other us) whom we could eventually […]
Books
Nice coincidence here in Dumaguete. The other night I put in alphabetical order the many books I have at home. I first divided them by language: Italian section, English and then Finnish. Then I ordered them alphabetically: first the Italian and then the ones in English. I also decided to mix fiction books with those of development economics and political economy because too many categories usually confuse. The books in Finnish do not have to […]
