Last summer I spent a couple of days in Copenhagen. I live in Jakarta, a really big city. Lots of cars. Many motorbikes. Long distances. I do cycle to work and in my neighbourhood in Jakarta, but I am among the very few who do this. In Copenhagen I liked to watch the flow of bicycles. The separate lanes from the road used by cars and busses. The dedicated traffic lights. The large bicycle parking lots such as the one at Central Railway Station and in many other parts of the city. Now and then an abandoned bicycle left there by who knows who and who knows why. What I liked the most however, were the classy Brooks leather saddles. Many of them. Some new. Some old. Some used. Some very much used. Some aged by weather, sun and rain, and by living in the streets.
